Matt Cox
Founder & Owner
Matt has been dancing for most of his life. A Smooth Jive Champion he founded Serene Dance almost 10 years ago. His experience in running and comparing dance events inspired him to create the UK’s first afternoon dance event and Serene dance has been running successfully ever since.
Matt is passionate about ensuring everybody has the best time at Serene and that they leave with happy memories each and every time.
Sam Jamal
Crew
Sam’s dance roots come from Hip Hop Bhangra from the age of 10! College and family took priority until she found Salsa and modern jive 26 years ago!
Sam has been with Serene since the very start always providing a warm welcome to everyone. She is the master of operational delivery and runs our Facebook and TikTok accounts. You know when Sam is in the room for sure and if you are short of a dance partner, she is always available for a spin around the floor.
Flick Buchanan
Crew
Flick has been dancing in the Jive and WCS community for more than 10 years. Flick is a PR and Marketing professional and she works very closely with Sam and the team to make sure our community are kept up to speed with what’s happening at Serene through our marketing and social channels.
Simone Buckley
Crew
Simone has been dancing since she was 3 years old but fell in love with modern jive 10 years ago and has been WCS dancing since Matt introduced her to it during a lesson in 2021.
On event days Simone can mostly be found at the registration desk welcoming our dancers. When she’s not on the WCS dance floor she is on her laptop managing the Serene Website and Ticketing System.
